MCI Academy 2013

Sunday – 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th March 2013
11am – 5pm
Venue: The HECCSport Centre for Cricket, Tharbies Farm, High Wych, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, CM21 0LL

MCI invites you to join the best pre-season cricket Academy held over 4 exciting Sundays.  The Academy will suit new cricketers to MCI as well as existing MCI cricketers who have attended private coaching, workshops or previous academies.  Get into great cricket shape for your 2013 season. 

The Academy will cover technical and tactical work, fitness and mental training as well as fielding and catching practice.

The Pace Bowling Academy will be lead by Ian Pont.  Founder of ABSAT (Advanced Biomechanics Speed & Accuracy Training).  For more information Who Is Ian Pont.

The academy will cover the ABSAT methods, learning the tactical side of developing swing, reverse swing, seam, yorkers, bouncers and slower balls, as well as game preparation and tactical play for T20 cricket.

You will also get the chance to bowl against the MCI Speed Gun

The Batting Academy will be lead by Luke Humphries, Elite Coach, ECB Level 3 Coach (currently completing Level 4), ECB Tutor and NLP Practitioner.

Batters will learn the importance of balance, weight transfer and contact areas, as well as shot selection, batting against spin and pace and all other aspects of technical and tactical batting drills and techniques, including T20 batting.

All attendees will also enjoy:

  • Game play – match situations and training under pressure
  • Mental approach (NLP) – goal setting, commitment, emotional control, stress management, etc
  • Fitness – impact of poor fitness on concentration, training and playing

The Academy will suit anyone who is looking to enhance their pre-season training and is suitable for attendees age 11+ adults & juniors (not suitable for beginners).
